Accessible UI components: an application checklist

Evaluate Velkin UI labels, keyboard flows, focus, and contrast in your application. Use component APIs and testing guidance without assuming automatic compliance.

The problem

A component library can support accessible interactions while an application still creates unnamed controls, inaccessible validation, or broken focus order.

An implementation path

Start with documented semantics, give controls meaningful names, test with the keyboard, and inspect focus after overlays close. Validate complete tasks with assistive technology.

"use client";
import { VuThemeProvider } from "@velkin/react/theme-provider";
import { VuButton } from "@velkin/react/button";
export default function Example() { return <VuThemeProvider persist><VuButton variant="solid" color="primary">Save changes</VuButton></VuThemeProvider>; }

Components to evaluate

Integration responsibilities

Velkin does not certify WCAG, Section 508, or EAA compliance for your product. Determine the requirements for your project and audit the integrated experience.

Use your actual content and data volume for the evaluation. Test empty, loading, error, and success states, then review mobile layout and focus order. Keep the application’s data access and authorization separate from presentation components.
